PLASKETT AWARD 10 YEARS

Opening today: an exhibition of 10 former Plaskett Award Recipients at Equinox Gallery.

The exhibition, titled Plaskett Award Ten Years, includes paintings by all former recipients, including Winsor Gallery's Vitaly Medvedovsky. Its opening reception will be held tonight from 6:30 - 9:00pm, during which Collin Johanson will be awarded the eleventh $25,000 Joseph Plaskett Award. Congratulations, Collin! 

In conjunction with the exhibition, a symposium will be held the next day at Emily Carr University of Art + Design (Room NB 245). Called Painting/Position/Place, it will bring together eight artists (including five former Plaskett Award recipients) and two writer-curators to examine the effect on artistic practice. 

Both events are free and open to the public. Should you be interested in seeing more of Vitaly's work, there are three pieces currently hanging in Winsor Gallery -- and a few more in our inventory that we would be more than happy to pull out for you.
