DANA CLAXTON WINS BIG AT IMAGINENATIVE FILM FESTIVAL

Dana Claxton emerged victorious from this year's imagineNATIVE film and media arts festival in Toronto, bringing home the 'Best Experimental' award for her feature, He Who Dreams, a surreal and troubling film about one man's inner conflict about what it means to be "Indian". This powerful film addresses the "trauma wrought by the imposition of Western values, customs, and systems upon the First Nations of North America," as well as the contrasting "resurgence of an Indigenous cultural presence".
