Lynn Price,  Time, give me the secret, 2013

Lynn Price is this year's recipient of both the Governor General's Silver Medal and the Mary Plumb Blade. Her practice is an investigation into perception and memory, particularly the way that perception of paintings and memories change over time, either through cultural changes or recollection.

Her paintings are an exploration into the concept of capturing time - creating a memento mori by capturing the movements of a human body on a canvas.  For Lynn, "painting becomes a process as opposed to a product: painting as a verb as opposed to painting as a noun".
