ECUAD AWARD WINNER KATRINA NIEBERGAL

Katrina Neibergal, A Rock Rolled Round, 2013

Katrina Neibergal is one of the three recipients of the Andrea & Marita Nudelman Awards for Visual Arts. Her work, "A Rock Rolled Round" questions the idea of an "art object" and how an object can have the ability to transcend spaces.

Neibergal describes the interplay of her work and the gallery perfectly: "Outside of any probable natural habitat and thrust into a gallery setting, in which gallery etiquette demands physical distance, the rock sits quietly between probability and improbability, “truth” and “fiction”, never fully revealing the source of its production yet, with the aid of the title and video, hinting at its authenticity."
