Samantha Knopp is the talented artist who has sculpted her way to a receiving this year's Circle Craft Award in Ceramics.

Intrigued by the idea of opposites Knopp states that she "...is interested in how a ceramic translation of a minimalist ideal could both embrace and disrupt. ...From a distance the work seems almost mechanical yet closer investigation reveals the maker's hand and the material's voice.  'Stack' is both an overt reference to Donald Judd's infamous sculpture series but also suggestive of the way ceramics objects innocuously find themselves in the domestic setting, piled and quietly stored away."
