The Western Front is presenting Radio Free Stein, a dramatic musical, in conjunction with the "Biocultural HingeTheorizing Affect and Emotion Across Disciplines", a Peter Wall Foundation Roundtable, which you can read more about in our March blog post.

This pilot episode of a large-scale serial sound project, Radio Free Stein, aims to render a number of Gertrude Stein's 80 plays into recorded dramatic and musical form. The project was masterminded by Adam Frank, directed by Adam Henderson and music created by Dorothy Chang.

Gertrude Stein was a controversial writer as well as an art collector. These works in Radio Free Stein, that have been turned into musical pieces, are a part of her experimental stream-of-consciousness writing series Word Portraits. A very interesting and stimulating experience ahead for sure! If you're free this Friday, you should definitely go.
