FLASH MEMORY - PAUL WONG

Opening on the 10th, an exhibition of video/photography by Paul Wong at the Arbutus Gallery. It looks like an intense scan of three years of the artist's life, should make for an intense viewing experience. Paul will also be giving an artist talk at the Surry Art Gallery on the 23rd of January.

FLASH MEMORY
PAUL WONG

20,323 pictures are mashed into an intense viewing experience. Photographs flash on
and off at 15 pics per second, 900 frames per minute. It is a chronology of three years
of incessant picture taking of people, places and things: part journal, diary, sketchbook,
research and documents of the everyday at home, studio, streets, art events, travels,
weddings, funerals, birthdays, gatherings with friends and family, celebrations and
festivals.

Flash Memory is a three-channel video installation.
Each loop presents a different year: 2008, 2009 and 2010.
