10 Seconds Preview

10 Seconds is a curated and commissioned series of new works by Vancouver artists that will be presented on the video screens of the Canada Line Skytrain. This year long project will run from April 2011 to March 2012. Each artist has been commissioned to create a 10-second work to be featured each month, repeating every two minutes over the commuter digital network and released on other digital platforms (YouTube/Facebook/DVD).

Artists have been invited to address a diversity of themes past, present and future tense by creating original works of art marking Vancouver's 125th Anniversary. These silent moments will be seen by over 100,000 commuters per day.

10 Seconds penetrates the airwaves with the work of Dana Claxton on April 18, 2011.  Other artists include Arts Umbrella teens, Michael Turner, Jeff Chiba Stearns, Tony Pantages and Douglas Coupland.

10 Seconds is curated by Paul Wong and presented by On Main. This is our third partnership with Canada Line (InTransitBC). Commissioned by the City of Vancouver Public Art Program with the support of Vancouver 125 and the participation of  the Government of Canada.
